The Honorable Tom Ridge Awarded 2008 Patriot Award at the American Security Challenge

I’m honored to receive the Patriot Award.  The innovation and creativity necessary to secure our nation comes from our innovators and entrepreneurs and I am honored  that they count me among them.”
--- Tom Ridge, former Secretary and founder, U.S. Department of Homeland Security
Biography of Tom Ridge

For our nation's security and prosperity many of the technologies needed to secure our short and long term security are still on the drawing board because there are not enough government resources to make them happen.  Moreover, most innovators do not know how or with whom to talk to sell their idea.

The American Security Challenge, America's first business plan competition devoted to our nation's security, seeks to fill this gap in funding and assure the long term security and prosperity of our nation.  In conjunction with the 2008 Homeland Security S&T Stakeholders Conference East, presented by the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) with subject matter support provided by the Science & Technology Directorate (S&T) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the American Security Challenge awarded $100,000 to TeleContinuity Inc for their winning business plan.  The event took place June 5, 2008 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.
